Grammatical terms

Declension. Nouns, pronouns and adjectives decline with the result that their form changes according to word meaning and grammatical requirement.  (See Latin Declensions)

Gender. Nouns and pronouns can have a different gender.  Commonly masculine, feminine and neuter.

In the English language people and animals have a gender - masculine or feminine but all other nouns are  neuter with very few exceptions. A table is neuter and so is chair and so on.

One exception  is that of a ship which will commonly be refered to as she.

In other languages, all nouns have a gender, and so in Spanish the word table (mesa) is feminine and so is chair (silla).  The genders of nouns have to be learnt by language learners and there is often no correspondence between the word and its gender.

Inflexion. This is the term used to describe changes in the form of adjectives, verbs, nouns and pronouns as required by the meaning and grammar of language.
